What is hummus?
Houmous is very popular in the Middle East and around the Mediterranean. But even in our region it has become quite a delicacy. It’s a creamy puree based on chickpeas and tahini (sesame paste), finished with a little garlic and Mediterranean herbs. Houmous is not only delicious, but also very nutritious.
The best ingredients
The Deldiche houmous boasts ingredients of the best quality. Thus, the chickpeas are grown in the Mediterranean region, which gives them a special taste and authenticity. They are harvested when they have a light colour and are perfectly sized. They are then blanched and mixed with tahini, a sesame paste from the Middle East. Only the best sesame seeds are used to make the tahini. The seeds are crushed in the traditional way on stone.
